Award-winning artist Jim Shore grew up in rural South Carolina, the son of artistic parents who instilled in him a love for the traditional imagery and values of American folk art. His inspiration came from his grandmother, a master quilter, who taught him the trade with her quilt collection spanning over 150 years.
