Birkenzucker (oder Xylit = Xylitol) ist ein Zuckeraustauschstoff, welcher in Aussehen, Gesmack und Süßkraft mit usuale Haushaltszucker comprable ist. Seinen Namen verdankt er seiner Entdeckung in den Fasern der Birkenrinde. Raab Premium Birkenzucker wird aus europäischen Hartholzern wie z.B. Birken gewonnen und in Finnland hergestellt. Im Gegensatz zu Haushaltszucker hat Birkenzucker über ca. 40% less calories. Naturally, Birkenzucker comes in many fruits, beers and vegetable plants. Birkenzucker ist zum Backen (Ausnahme Hefeteig), Kochen und Süßen von Getränken geeignet.
