Step 1: Cleaning and disinfection

1. Start by washing your hands and nails.
2. Dry them well, paying particular attention to making sure the cuticles and nails are dry.
3. Remove any traces of old nail polish or glue from the nail surface. This ensures that the nail glue stays set and does not swell.

Step 2: Adjust the size of the artificial nails

1. Take the artificial nails out of the packaging and compare each nail to the individual nails to find the best fit.
2. Arrange them on a tray in the correct order as this will make it easier to apply the nails.
3. File the nails if necessary to ensure a good fit.

Step 3: Prime the nails

1. Place the new false nails over the natural nails. Depending on the new shape and length, you may need to trim your natural nails to ensure they blend well with the new style of false nails.
2. Gently push the cuticles with a cuticle pusher to remove the dead skin and make room for the fake nail.
3. Lightly roughen the surface of your natural nails with the file that came with the nail glue. This will help the fake nail adhere better.
4. The final step in nail preparation is to clean the natural nail of any grease and oil residue using an alcohol wipe. This will clean the nail of any residue to ensure the fake nails stay in place permanently.

Step 4: Glue and press

1. Apply an even, thin layer of glue to the entire natural nail and the artificial nail bed.
2. Align the artificial nail with the cuticle and press it onto the nail bed. Hold it in place and apply gentle pressure for five seconds to ensure the false nail adheres properly to the nail bed.
3. Paint it in your favorite nail color and you're ready to show off your Instagram-worthy manicured nails!

Pro Tip: Apply the nails to the dominant hand first as this will make it easier to work on later as it will be easier to apply the nails to the other hand.
