  • Green Tea - Unflavored Organic Japanese Sencha (bulk) from controlled organic cultivation in Southwest Japan (Kagoshima). Sencha green tea is the most popular tea in Japan. Azafran Sencha is characterized by neatly rolled leaves, few stems and a beautiful green color. The aroma is typical of a Kagoshima sencha, but different from a Shizuoka sencha or a Gyokuru first flush tea, for example.
  • "Premium version", which is characterized by a typical Japanese aroma, but also "light". Our regular tea tends to have lower "umami" values than other Sencha varieties. However, some lots of our brand may be different and have higher values. Original Japanese Sencha has a more intense flavor and higher quality than Bancha or Chinese Sencha, for example. Typically, Chinese Japan Style Sencha also has inferior or visually irregular leaves and does not have a deep green color.
  • Preparation recommendation: Put 1 teaspoon of tea in a tea bag / cup: then approx. 75 ° C water - infusion time: 3-5 minutes. (Higher temperatures can change the flavor to an unpleasant grassy or bitter taste!) You can infuse the tea 2-3 times.
  • Sencha is more than just a Japanese green tea; it offers an incomparable aroma that will delight your senses. Quality plays a central role in making Sencha. High-quality, carefully harvested leaves develop their full flavor and express the finesse of Japanese tea culture. Compared to other teas such as oolong or matcha, sencha is characterized by its mild freshness.
  • This premium tea can not only be enjoyed on its own, but also perfectly complements many dishes. Whether with light sushi rolls or an Asian salad - Sencha is the ideal companion to enrich your culinary experience. With the right accessories and preparation, the full flavor potential can be unleashed and you will discover a whole new dimension of pleasure. Sencha is more than just a tea; it embodies centuries of Japanese tradition and culture. Its origins date back to the 8th century, when the art of tea cultivation flourished in Japan. This exquisite variety of green tea is grown mainly in the Kagoshima region, where the climatic conditions and soil produce the perfect aroma. Making Sencha is a fascinating ritual that takes your tea experience to a new level. Start with high-quality, freshly harvested sencha - the quality of the leaves significantly influences the flavor. Use soft water and bring it to about 75 degrees Celsius. This temperature is ideal for bringing out the subtle flavors of green tea without creating bitterness. Let the tea steep for about two to three minutes; infusing too long can spoil the flavor. Enjoy sencha on its own or experiment with preparations that combine it with fresh ingredients to create new taste experiences. Accessories such as fine teapots or elegant bowls also contribute to the presentation and complete the experience. If you follow these tips, each sip will be a harmonious symbiosis of tradition and flavor that will delight you every time. Sencha is not only a highly appreciated tea from Japan, but also an excellent accompaniment to a variety of dishes. Its delicate aroma and harmonious taste make it an ideal choice for menus that combine traditional and modern elements. This high-quality green tea stands out when combined with high-quality ingredients and spices such as saffron threads. Product information

Our green lime comes from originating from organic crops in southwestern Japan (Kyushu) and is one of the most popular Japanese teas (Sencha). We provide you with a "premium version of the Uchiyama variety", which is characterized by typical Japanese flavor (from the southwest). However, our regular tea is also characterized by a lower value of the typical flavor (umami). In some cases, however, we also have batches with higher umami values in our range.

Enjoy a special tea that brings the benefits of a typical Japanese tea ceremony right to your home.

Recommended preparation: approx. 75° C- Preparation time: 5 minutes - You can infuse the tea 3 times

This Sencha is very rich and can be infused 3 times. A fourth infusion may also be possible with a short infusion time of 3 minutes. The aroma during the 3 minute infusion time is pleasantly fine to floral. If you want your tea to contain somewhat "bitter" catechins, you should choose an infusion time of 8-10 minutes. However, the tea will still have a milder flavor than other green teas.

Caution: This tea does not like water temperatures higher than about 75°C, as it can change its flavor to an unpleasant grassy taste.

To remember: Sencha tea is the tea of the "common people" of Japan. This tea is a high-quality Sencha tea, but it cannot be compared to, for example, a Gyokuru or other Japanese "fine tea" (eg Sencha Extra Fine). Some customers also describe the tea as "fish or hay" - our tea has slightly higher bitter substances (due to the higher value of EGCG, see the certificate in the images). Since we are selling a Sencha Uchiyama, this is intentional. In some cases, a few packages also have a higher dust content due to the manufacturing process.
