Matcha Premium is for the sophisticated enjoyment of matcha and comes from Japan. The tea leaves are shaded a few weeks before harvesting to improve quality. Tencha green tea leaves are then ground into a fine green tea (matcha) powder in granite stone mills. The premium matcha flavor has a subtle sweetness accompanied by umami. Premium matcha has a deep green color in matcha powder and matcha foam. Matcha can be frothed very well with the bamboo matcha whip (chasen). Matcha quality is suitable for tea ceremonies with friends, for everyday use and can be used to make a matcha latte.
Preparation of matcha
- 1-2 g per preparation (approx. 1/2 teaspoon). Preheat the matcha bowl (chawan) and bamboo matcha mixer (chasen) with hot water
- Pour the matcha powder into the matcha bowl, pour 70-100 ml of warm water at 80° and froth with the bamboo mixer
- Enjoy plain or top with milk and ice cubes for an iced matcha latte
