TWININGS - for us, tea is not just a drink. It is an important part of our daily lives and has been for more than 300 years. The history of Twinings began in 1706, when coffee, gin and beer were the most popular drinks - even for breakfast! Although tea had been drunk in China for thousands of years, it was only around that time that it began to be imported to England and many people were still a little suspicious of tea. One man who was sure that tea was a great thing was Thomas Twining. Because he no longer liked drinking beer in the morning, he started selling tea in his coffee shop in London. It promised to sell only the best quality tea and the best tea blends. His promise and dedication to tea earned him many fans - as well as Jane Austen and Charles II. By 1750, tea was the most popular drink among the working class. Although the pub owners were furious and the tax on tea was increased, Thomas Twining continued to sell his tea - at The Golden Lyon, London's first tea shop.

Instructions for use
Pour a tea bag into your favorite cup. Pour boiling water (250 ml) over it and let the flavors develop for 3-5 minutes. Sweeten the tea to taste with a little honey or agave syrup.
